About our Special Guest:Â
Taryn Torres
Taryn Torres is a professional midfielder for Gotham FC whose career has been shaped by resilience, perseverance, and the ability to overcome adversity. Selected in the 2021 NWSL Draft, Taryn has made 47 appearances across all competitions and has been part of two NWSL Championship teams, a Concacaf W Champions Cup title, and an NWSL Challenge Cup victory.
Before turning professional, Taryn was a standout at the University of Virginia, appearing in 100 matches and earning three All-ACC selections. She also represented the United States at several youth national team levels, including the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
Taryn’s journey has included overcoming two ACL injuries. After missing the 2023 season, she returned to record a career-high 15 appearances in 2025 before suffering another torn ACL that September. Following months of rehabilitation, she returned to the field with Gotham FC in August 2026. During this meetup, Taryn will share an honest look at the mental challenges of injury, the uncertainty that comes with returning to play, and what it takes to rebuild confidence and trust in your body.
